Regenerative procedures utilize your body's own healing capacity. Stem cells are growth cells occurring naturally in the body. They are obtained from a small amount of your own bone marrow. You will go home the same day and will be able to resume activities as tolerated in a few days. The stem cells are active for up to 12 months. To reach your goal of improvement in pain, you may or may not need more than one treatment to reach that goal. If subsequent treatments are needed your physician will discuss this with you.

  • Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) Therapy is derived from the portion of blood with high concentration of platelets. Platelets are cells that contain high amounts of growth factors. The PRP is then injected into the site of injury to stimulate repair.
  • Bone Marrow Aspirate (BMAC) is Concentrate used to tighten and strengthen weak and damaged ligaments and tendons. It can also be used to decrease pain and improve function in some forms of arthritis and spine degeneration. This technique injects Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate/Autologous Adult Stem Cells derived from patient’s own bone marrow.

I received a Stem Cell shot in my knee 2 months ago. I decided to try this instead of a knee replacement. As a very active 63 year old woman, who has been active all my life, my knees have been exposed to much abuse through the years. My right knee has an old meniscus injury, as well as very thin cartilage and arthritis. In the last year this knee hurt and would swell constantly which forced me to cut back on my activity.

In 2 months’ time I am happy to report it does not hurt or swell and the stiffness is better each day. I feel that in another month I can resume all previous activities. I resumed most activities after 1 month.
